Flying First Class: A Caddie Story

Using a caddie was like flying in first class…

And who doesn’t like flying in first class? Let’s admit it, riding in first class is just a little bit nicer and that was my caddie experience…just a little bit better. At first I was resistance to the idea because this was not a serious day of golf, we were not in a tournament, no stakes, no prizes, just an outing with family over the holidays.

Boy was I wrong, this was exactly what we needed. It was a special occasion, a gift for someone who generally has everything, but never had a caddie. What a treat, the caddie was grabbing everyone’s driver on each tee box, removing the head cover and taking it back after each hit. He would run up to balls to shoot the distances, clean off clubs after each shot, replace divots (some much larger than others), get the pin, rake the traps (for the others in traps of course), you name it, he was doing it. While I could have had the caddie for myself, it was a total treat for me and my entire foursome. ‘

I can now go “first class” whenever I want now.

This guy (the caddie) was all over the golf course giving us the most unique and special golf day any of us had every experienced. I have flown first class in my life but it’s a luxury I don’t usually have. A caddie felt the same way. It made our special day that much better. I see caddies on tv all of the time but never imagined it was accessible to me. That day changed my golf experience, just like the pros, I can now go “first class” whenever I want now.
